One of my favourite recent additions to our county zoo has been the new bird exhibit. Simple concept: you can walk along a path filled with parakeets and other tiny birds. For a dollar you can buy a feed stick and entice a bird or two (or ten) with a snack for an up-close encounter. When it first opened, I wasn't sure how Kiddle would react, but he loves it. As long as the birds don't actually perch on his hand, that is.
